New Opponent for Erik Morales
Sep 13th 2011, 18:50

Veteran Erik Morales was scheduled to face hard-hitting Lucas Matthysse for a vacant junior welterweight belt on Saturday's pay-per-view card headlined by Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz. Change of plans. Matthysse is out with a viral infection and Pablo Cesar Cano has been selected as his replacement. The 21-year-old Cano is 22-0-1 with 17 KOs but has never faced anyone with the skill and experience of Morales.

Morales, 35, will be attempting to become the first boxer born in Mexico to win belts in four different weight divisions. A Morales win might set up a big money fight with Amir Khan.
