Former champ Hector "Macho" Camacho, who had been on life support after being shot in the face in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, was pronounced dead after his family made the difficult decision to have him removed from life support. Camacho never regained consciousness after the shooting.
Cocaine was found in the car in which Camacho was shot and a friend of Camacho's was shot and killed at the scene. Beyond that, few details have been provided by authorities and no arrests have been made.
Camacho is survived by his mother; three sisters, Raquel, Estrella and Ester; a brother, Felix; and four sons, Hector Jr., Taylor, Christian and Justin.
