Ocie Harris, a friend (or associate, depending on who you ask) of
Floyd Mayweather Jr., has been sentenced to two to five years in prison for shooting at two men in a car after the men argued with Mayweather. The shooting took place at a Las Vegas skating center on August 23, 2009 and could have landed Harris in jail for as long as 18 years after he pleaded no contest to three felony charges. Six of the seven shots Harris fired in the crowded parking lot hit the BMW sedan he was aiming at but neither the driver nor the passenger were injured.
While Mayweather, fresh off a two-month prison stint himself, was not charged in the case, there is a separate civil lawsuit still pending that alleges that Mayweather orchestrated the attack.
Being on Mayweather's legal team is basically a full-time gig . . .
