Boxing Slighted in SI's 100 Greatest Photos Nov 18th 2012, 11:35 Boxing may no longer be as popular in the U.S. as it was in years past, but it has certainly had more than its fair share of iconic photos. Sports Illustrated apparently feels differently. When SI recently compiled a list of the 100 greatest sports photos of all-time it only saw fit to include five boxing photos. Am I a little biased? Yes. Is any such list almost entirely subjective? Again, yes. But consider the experts at SI elected to include a photo of a rainbow trout at #34 but excluded Rocky Marciano landing this face-rearranging punch on Jersey Joe Walcott from the list entirely. Even worse, only two of the five boxing photos were ranked in the top ninety, and both #93 and #100 should - without question - have placed in the top twenty.
