The 2012 U.S. Olympic Boxing trials are underway in Mobile, Alabama. 80 of the nation's top amateurs - eight in each of the 10 Olympic weight classes - are competing in the double elimination tournament for an opportunity to represent the U.S. at the 2012 Games in London, England. Winners at the trials still need a top ten finish in their weight class at one of two international qualifiers later this year to actually qualify for the 2012 Games.
Flyweight Rau'shee Warren, already a two-time Olympian (2004, 2008), will become the first U.S. boxer ever to compete in three Olympic Games if he makes the 2012 Olympic Team. Lightweight Raynell Williams, Warren's teammate on the 2008 U.S. Boxing Team, is also back for another shot at Olympic glory.
